The Driver Safety Program Specialist has primary responsibility for student registration, maintenance and updating of the Driver Safety records for all defensive driving programs offered through the department. This position is also responsible for providing excellent customer service to the Circuit Court and answers all inquiries from potential and current students to schedule and reschedule courses. This position reports to the Driver Safety Program Manager.
Responsibilities
Work with students to ensure that complete registration information is received and course enrollment occurs within the parameters specified by the 16th and 23rd Judicial Circuit Courts.
Import and export confidential student information using electronic data files to and from the Circuit Court Clerks as needed.
Prepare and send correspondence to students regarding all defensive driving courses, course rescheduling and course completion in a timely manner.
Provide information to appropriate court personnel in response to inquiries regarding student attendance or registration.
Answer inquiries from current and potential students and the general public.
Communicate with instructors regarding upcoming courses, student attendance and program evaluations.
Ensure that department inventories of course materials and supplies are adequate for anticipated student enrollments.
Prepare miscellaneous monthly and year-end reports, as needed.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred.
Three years experience in a customer service, office clerical or related field required.
Experience with software applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and Windows.
Ability to speak Spanish (bilingual) preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
