This program/course is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health and follows all applicable rules and regulations. We are specifically looking for an Instructor to teach class on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Dean and Assistant Dean (if applicable) in providing leadership for the curriculum and program development, student recruitment and retention, and ensure that students successfully meet the course objectives and outcomes per IDPH guidelines.
Prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to address different learning styles.
Incorporate learning-centered principles and concepts and motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational experience.
Work collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Teaching assignments may include days, evenings and/or weekends - primarily at Aurora Fox Valley. Instructional modalities will include in-person learning environments only.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask as well as the ability to engage large groups of people with complicated material.
Meeting all WCC deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Active IDPH EMS Lead Instructor license/certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree or higher is preferred.
Previous teaching experience at the college level or relevant training experience.
Experience teaching traditionally underserved populations.
Experience incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning process.
Experience utilizing Learning Management systems.
